Jonah Rowe knew that he didn't know everything about his abilities as an 11th Percenter - a human who could access the power of their auras. But he knew enough to not believe in the myths of the Greek Gods.
Those were stories for kids. Hollywood.
Until the Sibyl came along.
Eva McRayne wanted nothing more than to get back to her Hollywood life after a senseless tragedy derailed it. So when she and her film crew went to Rome, North Carolina to film an episode for her show, Grave Messages, she had no idea that she was walking straight into a trap.
One that only Jonah Rowe could help her escape from.
Elliot Lancaster may have become a massive thorn in my side, but I still consider him to be a friend. My co-host.
My responsibility when three little demon girls decided to steal his soul.
Now, thanks to a suicidal fanatic with an ax to grind, I have to figure out a way to save Elliot. Save myself. See, Elliot had become a stranger to me. My friend seemed to grow darker with each passing day. He changed, and not for the better. Especially after he replaced himself on Grave Messages with a bona fide Seer.
Now, I'm stuck on an investigation in middle-of-nowhere Montana, with only Joey Lawson and my new co-host to help me survive a Native American monster: the Skinwalker.
To make matters worse, Elliot banned my Keeper from the location; threw me to the wolves of my realm.
I will never be the same again.
After Joey gets seriously injured, Eva is beside herself. She's the first to admit it: Joey Lawson is more than just her cameraman. He's her brother; the one solid through her time as the Sibyl.
She couldn't give up on him. No, she refused to give up on him. Despite the threats that the spirit of his attacker piled on her head.
So she ran to Jonah Rowe. A man who had become her best friend and her savior. But Jonah has trouble of his own in the form of Mary Anne Greene, the country sweetheart he had met on the road to be with Eva. And the longer the two of them are around each other, the harder Jonah has fallen for her.
But the sweet Mary Anne isn't all that she seems to be, and Eva knows it. She can feel it. And by the gods, if Jonah is hurt by this woman, there will be hell to pay.
Never in a million years would Eva have thought that she'll get kidnapped. Maybe what the books said about Greek heroes and hubris had a point.
She was too good of a fighter. There was no way Ares could get his hands on her. But the rescue was only the beginning.
Jonah Rowe was willing to work with anyone or anything to get Eva back home. Even if that meant working with the Devil himself. So when he and Cyrus meet up with Ares, Jonah is leery, but willing. He had no idea that he was falling right into the plans that Hades had for him. For Eva.
Jonah was done being the hero. He would take what he wanted. Live how he wanted.
The rest of the world be damned.
My name is Eva McRayne, and you don't know me yet, but you will.
I am the co-host of a paranormal documentary show called Grave Messages. I am also the Sibyl.
What's the Sibyl?
Apollo's messenger for the dead. Yeah, that Apollo. The same god from the Greek mythology stories we were all forced to read in high school. Except, the stories aren't stories. The gods are real. The ghosts are real.
And my choice is a simple one: use my new immortality to bring followers to Apollo, or commit the suicide I had so desperately wanted before the gods and ghosts invaded my life.
It's not much of a choice. Then again, it was never meant to be. Succeed, or relinquish this crazy life to someone else.
And in the process, lose my own.
Agent Danielle Abney wasn't sure which was worse. Her job or the small town she was thrown into after a series of murders labeled the victims as witches. It was something out of Hawthorne. Or Hitchcock.
Yet, the deeper Abney digs into her own investigation, she will learn that no matter how many times you can deny the truth, it will still be there. Still be waiting.
And that truth will haunt her for the rest of her days.
Between 1969 and 1974, the Zodiac serial killer sent a series of letters, greeting cards, and ciphers to newspapers in the Bay Area of California. These correspondences taunted the police and detailed murders that he claimed to have committed. Along with sixteen confirmed letters, a total of six ciphers were received from the Zodiac; all were sent to newspapers with the demand that they be published. It was through these ciphers that Zodiac provided clues to his identity.
But the ciphers were never conclusively solved.
Through the use of forensic document examination techniques, Witherspoon has purposed a new interpretation of all six Zodiac ciphers that not only describe the crimes he committed, but also an identity and profile of one of the most enigmatic killers in American history.
