Small measurements -- so soft and cute but too tiny to fit

Measurements done laying flat: 19" long top of neck on the very top of the fabric all the way down to the bottom of the shirt, under armpit to the other armpit laying flat is 18 3/4", and bottom of the shirt laying flat from side to side is 18 3/4" also. (there is no drawstring, even though the description says so) The colors are a nice pastel. The shirt's tag says 100% cotton & it is definitely soft and it would be so comfortable if it fit like an adult small should fit. Tag says Made in India. The shirt is thin but not too thin to see though; it's really a lovely shirt. We just could not keep this pretty Adult Small shirt, because it's the same size as a child's medium shirt that would fit a 4th grade normal sized kid on the growth chart. I have taken measurements to help you compare against your own shirts for it. I would totally recommend this shirt to anyone's elementary aged child or a very tiny petite woman might be able to fit it by comparing measurements of the actual shirt I listed.

I have purchased this shirt in 5 colors at different times. When I purchased the shirt in 2020, it was fantastic. Perfectly thin, not sheer, incredibly flattering. This was when the shirt was produced in Peru. Now the shirt is made in India and the shirt has completely changed. Now it is thicker and not as soft and stretchy. It doesn’t lay the same way that the old shirt did and is not as flattering. Now you do have to size up 1-2 sizes. It is very disappointing because this shirt used to be absolutely perfect. Used to be 10/10. Now it is a 5/10.

The fabric is soft, and the tie-dye effect is pretty, altho this whole line seems quite overpriced to me in terms of the quality. The fabric is not particularly heavy, and they warn you on the packaging that the colors could bleed when they come in contact with light-colored fabric, sheets, etc. Not ideal for the price, but super cute that everything matches. But... I ordered XL & it is VERY tight. So, I was thinking I could exchange, but I also ordered the matching sweatshirt, also in XL, and so large it hangs like a tent! So you tell me which size I should order??? Seems like really poor quality control. Also, I have a real beef in that I returned these to the UPS store more than 10 days ago, and this company STILL has not credited my Amazon account. With most reputable Amazon merchants, you get the credit very shortly after dropping the package off at UPS, locker, Whole Foods, etc, but not with these guys, it seems.

Why are we going backwards with these sizes?! Just so you know, if you go up a size, it doesn't get longer, it just gets wider. A very Walmart thing to do. Awful.

In 5’5” tall and weigh 135 lbs. I ordered an XL. Right now, it fits fine, but with it being 100% cotton, which I love, I’m afraid it will require specia handling once washed to prevent shrinkage making it uncomfortable and unattractably tight. I’m to the age and stage where close fitting tops don’t look sexy, they just show any rolls of fat by clinging to them, thus revealing what most wish to skim over lightly. Sort of giving the illusion that the rolls aren’t there😜👍‼️
